Susquehanna accepts transfer credit from U.S. institutions which are accredited by federally recognized accrediting agencies. Transfer credit from foreign institutions will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
To be acceptable for transfer credit, the grade earned in any course must be at least a C-. Grades from other colleges are not factored into a student's Susquehanna grade point average.
Students should arrange to have an official copy of their transcript sent directly to the Registrar's Office at Susquehanna University, 514 University Ave, Selinsgrove, PA 17870-1164.
Courses at other colleges may not carry the same credit as the equivalent course at SU. In such cases, SU will accept for transfer only as much credit as the parent institution has awarded.
Courses that are approved for transfer as satisfying a specific central curriculum requirement will fulfill the requirement regardless of the number of credits awarded.
Students must have their advisor's written approval in order to take coursework at another college, even when a course has already been approved for transfer. Under the university's residency requirement, students must take 24 of their last 32 semester hours and any course a major program may designate in residence or in approved off-campus programs (anyone approaching his or her senior year needs to be careful about the amount of coursework he or she plans to take at another college over the summer). Capstone courses cannot be transferred from another institution.
Susquehanna has a sizeable list of previously approved transfer courses. To see if a course or college in which you are interested has already been approved, use the search options below. If the course to be taken is not displayed, it will need to be reviewed and approved by the head of the SU department which offers such courses.
Please contact the Registrar's Office at 570-372-4109 or
regoffice@susqu.edu if you have any questions about transferring coursework.
